One thing I would want to confess... Marketeers, Advtg Suits, Event organizers... people from the communication industry are really quick in catching up on few words every season... and exploiting (nichodo) them...
At the beginning of my pro-career, I was introduced to the word promotions... which to me that time in lay man's word meant, 'Creating an innovative brand-sales related activity which helped the brand to connect with the customer of 1-2-1 basis', Simple!
But over the course of years... the same has evolved into multiple terms and now the latest version is, 'EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING'... But, it does make sense ???
At Power Spa we were one of the pioneer's to create this format (we didn't coin this phrase though) when we started creating our mobile spa for brands like Deustche Bank, Barclays, BMW, Himalayan water etc in high-end residential building across India. In simple lay man terms... the Mobile Spa was the medium to hook the end prospective customer with the brand in a serene spa-ish environment.
In the last 9 years we have been doing this for more than 150 brands across India, but, only used this phrase couple of times... compared to the hordes of people from the industry who use it in every sentence...I guess after so many years in the industry, And, something never change.
SO... EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING.. HERE WE COME :)
